Lan et al. (2025) explore healthcare professionals’ views on the feasibility and acceptability of using a computerised adaptive testing tool to assess and monitor mental health difficulties in children and young people.
Healthcare professionals viewed the Artemis-A computerised adaptive testing system as a potentially valuable tool for the early identification and monitoring of mental health difficulties in children and young people. Participants highlighted benefits including rapid assessment, improved communication, earlier intervention, and more targeted referrals to specialist services. However, concerns were raised about implementation, including safety monitoring, responsibility for follow-up care, and ensuring appropriate integration within existing services. Overall, the findings suggest that Artemis-A is acceptable and potentially useful in primary and community care settings, provided that clear protocols and support systems are in place.
